Online Pre School- Is It Worth It?

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

During this COVID-19 all schools have shut down and honestly put a strain on parents all across the US. #covid19 It definitely gave parents much appreciation to their teachers. Teaching is a daunting task but so rewarding. I am currently a Special Education Teacher and I love every minute of what I do. When the quarantine hit I was not worried as I was equipped to ensure my children didn't miss the education that they need. But that is not the case for the next household. Research has found that quality early learning experiences are critical for children. Online preschool has the potential to address two serious problems with the current state of preschool: access and cost. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than one hour of screen time per day for children ages 2 to 5. And kids sitting quietly, clicking on a mouse is the opposite of what preschool should be about, say many experts.

Ideally, early learning opportunities teach kids about emotions, how to make friends and get along with other children. Most argue with an online setting that is not possible. WRONG! I am here to tell you it is very possible and since the quarantine, it has happened. Little Dandies Learning Academy is a privately owned Early Learning Center located in Arlington, TX, who specializes in preparing your little one for grade-school and beyond! They offer standard 9-month programs, Summer Programs, Special Needs, and online classes. The program includes an exclusive curriculum, Highpoint Curriculum, That prepares your little one for KIndergarten. This curriculum has been successful for over 30 years and although the techniques are old school--IT WORKS!

  • Children who attend quality preschools display greater self-regulatory behavior and academic skills than their counterparts who don’t attend preschool, according to new research.

  • Benefits such as increased vocabulary gained through socializing with other kids and a love for books can provide a leg up for children throughout their academic careers.

  • Children attending preschools where teachers receive additional training can still show academic gains by as much as a quarter of a letter grade by the start of high school
